Meet the Associate Dean of Research & External Relations
Research excellence and discovery sit at the heart of the Faculty of Science at McMaster. Our faculty strive for excellence in a vast array of fields, ranging from exploring the basic structure of new materials at the nano scale to electric car batteries to spinal cord injury rehabilitation to documenting and predicting climate change, to name only a few. The Faculty is home to 15 Canada Research Chairs and many other award holders.
Our mission is to advance scientific discovery and knowledge, and to promote scientific literacy and understanding in our community. We value innovative, collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches to discovery. Our Faculty members work with colleagues in over 32 countries that span six continents. We have partnerships with sectors such as mining, the automotive industry, food processing and manufacturing, public health and community organizations. We are also host to several unique facilities, such as the McMaster Nuclear Reactor, and the LIVE lab for the study of music and acoustic environments. More information about the research infrastructure on campus can be found here.
Committed to training the next generation of researchers, we involve students in the research process at the earliest stages of their university experience. Our students, undergraduate and graduate, have unparalleled opportunities to conduct research, work with external partners, and broaden their understanding and experience of science and its impact.
We aspire to push the boundaries of knowledge and improve our world. To learn more about our work, please contact me.
